Editorial Policy and Ethics Statement

1. Editorial Policy

The International Journal of Current Educational Studies (IJCES) upholds the principles of academic integrity, scholarly rigor, and ethical transparency in all aspects of publication. The journal is committed to ensuring that all submissions undergo a fair, impartial, and timely peer-review process, with decisions based solely on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.

1.1 Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to IJCES are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the process. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback to support the improvement of submitted manuscripts.

1.2 Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board, without interference from sponsors, institutions, or other stakeholders. IJCES maintains a strict separation between editorial content and commercial or institutional interests.

1.3 Open Access and Copyright

IJCES is an open-access journal, committed to the free and global dissemination of scholarly knowledge. All published articles are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

1.4 Data Transparency and Reproducibility

Authors are encouraged to make research data available where appropriate, to promote transparency, verification, and future scholarly use. Submissions should include a statement regarding data availability when applicable.

2. Publication Ethics

IJCES adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—must comply with the following ethical standards:

2.1 Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.
  • All listed authors must have substantially contributedto the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study.
  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interestor sources of financial support that could influence the results or interpretation of their research.
  • Multiple or redundant publication of the same work in different journals is strictly prohibited.

2.2 Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for ensuring the integrity and qualityof the publication process.
  • Editors must treat all manuscripts as confidential and evaluate them solely on their academic merit, without bias regarding gender, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, or political belief.
  • Editors must take appropriate action when ethical concerns are raised about a submitted or published paper, following COPE flowcharts and recommendations.

2.3 Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and confidentially, without personal or professional bias.
  • They should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and report any potential ethical concerns or conflicts of interest.
  • Reviewers must not use the content of a manuscript for personal advantage.

3. Plagiarism and Misconduct Policy

IJCES uses plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or iThenticate) to ensure originality. Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or unethical manipulation of data will be rejected or retracted, following COPE procedures.

4. Conflict of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any personal, academic, or financial relationships that could be perceived as influencing their objectivity. A Conflict of Interest Statement must accompany all submissions.

Retraction and Correction Policy

In cases of proven scientific misconduct, plagiarism, or major errors, IJCES will issue retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern in accordance with COPE guidelines. Retractions will clearly state the reasons and remain publicly accessible.

6. Archiving and Preservation

IJCES ensures the long-term preservation of all published content through digital archiving systems such as LOCKSS or PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to guarantee permanent accessibility of scholarly work.

7. Ethical Oversight

Any ethical issues not explicitly covered in this statement will be addressed in accordance with COPE’s Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
